Open House was a huge success. We had a big crowd and everyone seemed really excited about the store. We have added "The Playhouse", a children's boutique for little girls age newborn to size 5. You really need to check it out. It also includes a vendor with tutu's, head bands, little girls jewelry, the little crotched hats with the clip on flowers and much more. There are lots of really nice name brand clothing and jackets.

Christmas is just around the corner. Come in now for Christmas wreaths, both green and deco and lots of Christmas gift ideas. Layaway is available. We are getting new merchandise in daily.

Watch for our ad in the upcoming December issue of Bluffs and Bayous.

Great news! The Touch of Eden is moving in and will open for business this week. Come by and say hello.

Jeanne Wroten will be taking "Fall Pictures" at The Toad House next Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Come early to get a spot. They look great with all the big pumpkins, old barn doors, hay, and scarecrows.

Christmas Open House is November 5th for the Town of Meadville. Our vendors are offering great specials that day as well as sales going on inside the store. Refreshments will be served. There will be lots of Christmas ideas to get a head-start on the holiday season. Don't miss it!

Get your monogramming and appliquing orders in early. It will be a busy time. Sewing classes begin again on November 6th. We will be making Christmas stockings. Let me know if you are interested in getting started. This is a good time for beginners to start.

Great news! "The Touch of Eden" is moving in the other side of "The Toad House"! Now you get your hair done, your eyebrows waxed, your nails done and shop in-between (or while your waiting on your foil to process). They will have lots of new products on hand with great specials to offer.

Also, our craft classes will be moving to the space behind them. When everything is set up, you will able to come craft with us for sewing, painting, smocking, and scapbooking just to name a few. We will have more information on how all of that will work when I have schedules done for the classes.

We have added several new vendor booths since I last posted and have interest in a couple of more. Spread the word if you know of someone who would like a space. I only have about 10 more spots available at the moment. \

See ya soon!

So sorry! I was about to forget one of our best-selling booths and could not quit without mentioning it. This booth has the tea lights with the fragrant oil, really cute purses and wallets and lots of fashion jewelry. I am about brain-dead at this point. I'll try to do better:)
Sorry that it has been so long since I have posted. To update.. The vendor booths are doing really well. We have a western booth with a great selection of western framed prints and a variety of novelty items. Another booth has the popular "Toy" watches, jewelry and pewter. Still another booth has vintage and primitive home decor and books-you just never know what you will find in this booth. We have a new vendor booth with really cute MudPie kids clothes. Tuesday or Wednesday we have another new vendor moving in with western flair gel candles.

There are about 15 ladies signed up for sewing classes and about the same number for the oil painting class. There is still time to sign up for either class. The sewing class will start on August 28 and run for four Saturdays although they will not all be consecutive. The oil painting class is set for Sept. 11 and will be scheduled once every 4-6 weeks thereafter.

There are large markdowns on summer items from 50-75% off. We have just in a new selection of designer purses. They are the latest designs and are really nice. Also, just in are designer sunglasses, zebra print bible book covers and diaper bags. These are really cute monogrammed.

All for now. I promise not to be so long posting next time.

Art Classes

I have Geraldine Whitehead lined up for an oil painting class on September 11. Class members should show up at 8:00 to begin set up and we will begin painting at 8:30. Class will usually last until 3-4 in the afternoon. Bag lunch or you can pick something up at Georgeann's across the street. A supply list will be available in the next few weeks. Anything that you have a question about just come by the store. Come by the store or give me a call if you are interested so we can get a number to plan for.

I'm also working on getting a sewing class together. Anyone interested should get in touch with me so I know what days would be best to hold these classes. You must be able to bring your own machine to class. We are going to begin with an apron for the beginners class. More classes will be added as needed.

We are getting in school uniforms everyday. If you haven't gotten everything you need, it's not too late. We have a couple of baby strollers, a jumper, baby mattresses and a walker. LOTS of infant and baby clothes.

We have three new booths moving in tomorrow. One with soup and dip mixes, one with tea lights, purses and other items, and one with primitives and antiques.

There is still a lot of stuff to get arranged and moved around but it is really coming together. Thanks to everyone who has already stopped by.

We are officially moved in and open for business!! It has been a busy couple of days. We are getting new merchandise in faster than we can put it out! It's great!

We have lots of school uniforms but they are going fast. We can monogram your school bags or the uniforms. Come by early before the line backs up.

New vendors have opened their booths with five more rented and waiting to move in. We have lots of vendor space still available. Come by the store or call 601-384-5206 if you're interested in renting a booth.

We also have a vendor selling used office furniture and some used gym equipment. If you need office chairs, desks, filing cabinets, or conference tables, you need to check these out.

It is so exciting to see what God has planned for us next!

The feed store is NOT closing. Ed Jackson will be renting it and business will continue uninterrupted. I'm excited for him.

Work on the new building will be steady next week. Moving day should be by mid-week. There are already several booths rented and inquiries about more. It looks like we will be in full swing by the end of the week. There have been lots of prayers answered. Each new day brings new possibilities and we ask God's direction in each decision.

Watch for the paper to come down in the windows!! We will be open for business!!

Moving Day!

Have you heard? The Toad House is moving to the old Bill's Dollar Store building..well, half of the old store.God is so gooooood. This is an answer to prayer and I am so excited. It is going to be great!

We are planning craft, sewing and art classes. There will be space for vendor booths. We will have much larger selections of men's, women's, and children's clothes. We expect to be selling more furniture and a variety of new products. The sky's the limit.

At this point, the feed store is up for rent; however, if no one shows an interest soon, the plan is to possibly open it on Friday and Saturdays only. We realize the community depends on us for their feed and fertilizer and such and don't want to make a hardship on anyone. We will keep you posted.

We are having a big sale to move merchandise we don't want to relocate. Come by and say hello!
